Import, Export and Preferences.
In this article, we will take a look at some of extra Teamboard options available in the hamburger menu.
Import
We regularly see customers that were already using another application for recording and monitoring work prior to using Engage Process. For example, Trello or Excel. The data in these applications may be used in the organisation and therefore, typing into Teamboard would entail duplicating work. Fortunately, Teamboard has a number of import options to avoid this. You can find these by clicking on the hamburger menu in the top left-hand corner and clicking on the ‘Import’ option in the middle column. The following import options will appear on the screen:
- Use an Engage Process export file: this ETTZ file is Engage Process's own file format and specifically designed for exchanging boards between Engage Process clients.
- Use a Trello file: from the Trello application, data can be exported to a so-called JSON file. The data in this file can then be imported back into Teamboard.
- Import from CSV: some applications can export data to a CSV file. This file can then be used to import the data into Teamboard. This import option is ideally suited to quickly add a set of data from one board to another.
Export
All information on a board can be exported. You can find the export options by clicking on the hamburger menu at the top left and selecting ‘Save as’ on the left. The ‘Export’ option appears. Click on this and you will see the following options appear:
- Export as CSV file: this option allows you to export all, or a selection of content to a CSV file. This CSV file can then be used to import the information into another application or to quickly move a particular set of data from one board to another in Teamboard.
- Export as Excel file: this option allows you to export all, or a selection of content to an Excel file. This Excel file can, for example, be forwarded to people who do not have access to the Engage Process Teamboard, such as external parties.
- Export as Engage Process Teamboard file: this option allows you to export a board with or without content to Engage Process's own format. This way, you can easily exchange boards with other Engage Process customers.
Preferences
You can set a number of parameters here and specify whether you want to receive email notifications when something is posted on a board in your name. This is on by default.
