How do I publish a diagram?
Review and publish diagrams.
In this article, we explain how to review and publish diagrams so they can be viewed in the Engage Process Viewer.
How do I review a diagram?
Diagrams that are submitted for publication from the Engage Process Modeler appear in the For Review window on the left-hand side of the Engage Process Publisher.
-
Double-click a diagram to open it.
-
The Properties panel on the right shows:
-
The source of the diagram
-
Who submitted it
-
The submission date
-
If the diagram is a process, you can adjust layout-related settings to improve readability before publishing.
Important
Layout changes made in the Publisher do not affect the diagram in the Modeler.
If the process is not updated in the Modeler, layout changes will need to be reapplied in the Publisher the next time the diagram is submitted.
Always coordinate layout changes with the user who submitted the process from the Modeler.
How do I publish a diagram?
There are two ways to publish a diagram:
Option 1: Drag and drop
-
Drag the diagram from the For Review window.
-
Drop it in the Publish window:
-
On the white background to publish it at the top level, or
-
On a folder to publish it inside that folder.
-
Option 2: Publish via the menu
-
In the Publish window, click the location where the diagram should be published.
-
In the For Review window, select the diagram.
-
Go to the Start tab and click Publish.
Authorisation after publishing
After publishing, an authorisation window opens automatically.
Here you can define:
-
Which users and/or user groups can view the diagram
-
Who is allowed to post comments in the Viewer
Republishing an existing diagram
If the diagram has been published before, a confirmation message appears asking whether the existing publication should be replaced.
In almost all cases, select Yes.
Publishing directly from the Modeler
Users with the role Publication manager can publish diagrams directly from the Modeler without using the Publisher.
This is only possible if the diagram has been published at least once before.
In this situation, the same replacement confirmation message appears and should again be confirmed with Yes.
