Review and publish diagrams.
In this article, we cover how to actually review and publish diagrams so that they can be viewed in the Engage Process Viewer.
How do I review a diagram?
Diagrams submitted for publication from the Engage Process Modeler are ready in the ‘For Review’ window on the left-hand side of the Engage Process Publisher. Double-click on a diagram to view it. In the ‘Properties’ window on the right, you will find some information about where the diagram came fro, who put it forth, and when.
If the diagram is a process, then you can adjust some layout-related things to enhance readability before publishing the process.
Note!
If you change the layout of the process, the process in the Modeler will not change with it. If the process is not adjusted in the Modeler, the changes to the layout will have to be adjusted in the Publisher the next time. So always coordinate your changes with the user who submitted the process for publication in the Modeler.
How do I publish a diagram?
Publishing a diagram can be done in several ways, namely:
- Pick up the diagram from the ‘For Review’ window and drag the diagram to the ‘Publish’ window. Release the process where you want the diagram to be, i.e. on the white background if the diagram is to be on the top level or on a folder if the diagram is to be in a folder, or;
- First, in the ‘Publish’ window, click where the diagram should be, then in the ‘For Review’ window, click on the diagram you want to publish and then on the ‘Start’ tab, press the ‘Publish’ button.
After publishing, the application automatically comes up with an authorisation window. Specify here which users and/or user groups are allowed to view the diagram. You can also specify here who can or cannot post comments to the diagram in the Viewer.
If the diagram has been published before, the following message appears:
You then basically always select ‘Yes’.
Please note!
Users with the role ‘Publication manager’ can publish a diagram directly from the Modeler without intervention of the Publisher. The diagram must then already have been published a first time. In such a case, the same message as above appears and you actually always press ‘Yes’ again.
